Gann Master Cycle update - Sept 1st 2023
A Gann Master Cycle forecast following the DJIA, SPX, Nasdaq Composite & Nasdaq 100
Introduction
In last week’s post, I wrote:
“Based on the 93-week Gann Box displayed on the weekly charts, there is a chance for a peak cycle to occur around October 2023. While an October high is not typically expected when considering the annual cycles for US Indices, historical analogs have shown late October peaks. Additionally, the 60-year Gann Master Cycle reached its highest point in October.”
In an earlier tweet in August, I mentioned W.D. Gann’s observation on seasonal change in trend:
Again, this observation from W.D. Gann was nearly spot on as the US Indices made a second but higher low on August 25th, 2023.
I often get the question of how you can spot if a trend change has occurred. W.D. Gann has some specific rules around this, but I found the method below easy to apply.
Typically, a trend will continue until a prior swing bottom is breached. Occasionally, a minor stage may be broken, but it usually takes two or more to affect the overall trend. Therefore, it's safe to assume that the current trend will remain intact until a prior swing bottom is broken, as shown in the above chart.
You can even forecast where the next pivot is expected using the timing lines and pivots. I have enhanced the above chart with an additional forecast for our premium subscribers.
